Shih tzu types

Ofcourse not all American kennels and dogs are like that.. BUT Im talking about the Overall.
Not all Europian dogs are good! Not at all! And not all American dogs are bad! But im talking about the type in overall

If you only watch the westminister show on the internet, the shih tzus there! They are a lot diffrent than in scandinavia/england! High on legs, Flashy, not much different between male and female. It´s like some little walking, rewind dolls I have talk with many judges and breeders in USA about this and most of them agree! Say this type is winning here so we keep it.

Peoble can read and interpret the FCI standad in there on way, but you must see Lemuro, that they are not talking about the typical american type! And no one is talking about so long and low dogs dogs like Dacshounds, but not eather short dogs like Schnauzers! Both are wrong isn´t it? The pictures I posted before are all Champions

True! Shih Tzu should have arrogant and smooth-flowing movements! Not a flashy, quick step movements! Many USA types moves more lika a Am. cocker than Shih Tzu, and the topline is often similar too Sorry but I think it´s often nothing arrogant about many USA type ST´s they are just flashy, high on legs dogs. Not like the standard says!:

From the standard:
GENERAL APPEARANCE - Sturdy, abundantly coated dog with distinctly arrogant carriage and chrysanthemum-like face.

TAIL - Heavily plumed carried gaily well over back. Set on high. Height approximately level with that of skull to give a balanced outline.

GAIT/MOVEMENT - Arrogant, smooth-flowing, front legs reaching well forward, strong rear action and showing full pad.

FOREQUARTERS - Shoulders well laid back. Legs short, and muscular with ample bone, as straight as possible, consistent with broad chest being well let down.

BODY - Longer between withers and root of tail than height of withers, well coupled and sturdy, chest broad and deep, shoulders firm, back level.

HEAD AND SKULL - Head broad, round, wide between eyes.

Im not saying that if a dog have a little American blood in them then they are not good. Not at all! Perhaps these dogs have a good chest ore something that the other parent was missing If they have the right europian low-on-leg type in the end, then no harm is done if they are typical correct

What concern me is when type like the secont picture above wins the type of the dog on the first picture in Europe, even under a Europian judge! Not all Europian judges are good and knows how the shih tzu should look like! That is for sure!

About your bitch you have talk about. I have not she her live and it is hard to judge from a picture only. Like ALL dogs she have good points and bad points..For me she is a feminin sweet girl with nice face and pigment, outstanding coat, stylish but is to short in back and to high on legs with flat tail whitch give the wrong outline.

so nice the foto of santosha dog, i have one from them after very old bloodline and one from norway kennel hin chen also very old bloodlines.

Egle`s Happy is too short? I absolutely disagree, maybe because I`ve seen her live:)

she have a short back , but not like others have very long legs and very short body, who looks very leggy . And YES I hate her flat tail I told it before... most American lines have problems with a tails and it is so sad , because I love tea cup tails, but it is a problem to find so dog, anyway Xeralane's now breed beautiful dogs with correct tails set.

she have a short back if we will compare with other scandinavians/old lines , but if we will compare with a American type dogs so she is tooooooo long :D:D:D
She is a middle for me and i wouldn't like to have a longer or shorter body dog.

I like Happy`s proportion, I think she`s the golden mean She isn`t leggy, I think.

I don`t like those extreme American shih tzus, when leggs are 2x longer than their body But I don`t like when shih tzu is very long too. That`s my taste

I like it too, i mean this is the perfect type with so dog you can go everywhere and you will never be disqualified from the ring

Thease American lines dogs which tzu showed for us is really bad examples, and I dont think they are able to win Best in show under the most winning dogs in USA, like is Music ( Xeralane's Face The Music - America's #1 shih Tzu.) :

I saw his brother Gary-Xeralane Face the Glamour, he`s amazing, sooo bony, real male with strong body

i find it little stranges that both of you have no web and just pm and your contery named here, morst of us have a web or anything so pepol can see how we are, way not you peopel, and that is not only for tzu but also for shih.

hey guys, please be friendly , everyone have thems own opinions and it is interesting to hear it ! We have diffirent tastes of shih tzu breed, but thats normal ! It is the same with all other breeds too
